Dr. Noriega graduated from Medical school in Guadalajara, Mexico. He then pursued a masters degree in Public Health with a major in Public Health Informatics (MPH-PHI) at the University of Minnesota. He has worked in different out patient settings in California, where he grew up and here in the Twin Cities where he’s been living since 2004. 

All these experiences have given him a perspective on different medical systems ranging from clinic operations  to health Informatics that all clinics need to succeed. 

By understanding medical systems, he has had the  opportunity to make decisions that has led to productive  changes leading to increased revenue. He has also worked as the director of revenue cycle for  more than 5 years with a ton of knowledge in insurance reimbursements and ways to maximize revenue.

He has two sons and loves being outdoors, especially in the summer. He enjoys biking around the lakes. He plays and attends football games. Raul and his boys also play video games and indulge in some old school gaming on the PC over gaming consoles. 

As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I am passionate about providing compassionate, holistic, and evidence-based mental health care to individuals of all ages. With a deep commitment to improving mental well-being, I work collaboratively with my patients to address their unique needs. 

After graduating from the Capstone College of Nursing at the University of Alabama, I worked in inpatient behavioral healthcare settings across the country where I was able to gather extensive experience in assessing and treating a wide range of mental health conditions. As my passion for mental health grew, I decided to further my education at Purdue University where I obtained my master’s in nursing with a focus on mental healthcare. This degree helped me to further hone my diagnostic and assessment skills while also learning the importance of providing holistic and evidenced based care. 

In my practice, I focus on creating a safe, non-judgmental environment where patients feel heard and respected. My goal is to help individuals better understand their mental health challenges, develop coping strategies, and work toward lasting recovery. I prioritize open communication, active listening, and shared decision-making, and I am committed to staying current with the latest research and treatment options to provide the best care possible. My current areas of expertise/focus include including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, PTSD, and psychotic disorders.

 Donny comes to Minneapolis Health Clinic with over 20 years' experience in healthcare, and is extremely excited to have joined Dr. Totoe and her team! Originally from Chicago, he did most of his training and provided care in Chicago, Phoenix, and Minneapolis. A family practice provider, he brings a unique background in speech & language and hearing & ear disorders, and has special interests in LGBT health, addiction medicine, and integrative aesthetics. When not at the bedside, Donny enjoys music (including playing the piano), vintage vinyl, science fiction, weight training and running, and spending time with his husband and close family & friends.
